PERGOLUX Awning β€” Installation & Mounting

Can I install the awning myself?

Yes! PERGOLUX awnings are designed for easy self-installation, no matter the size. You'll just need an extra pair of hands β€” two people for most sizes, three for the 5 m and 6 m models β€” along with a few basic tools: a tape measure, spirit level, hammer drill, hex keys, a spanner, and two stepladders.

Prefer to leave it to the pros? No problem β€” professional installation is available for a fee. Just check the website when purchasing your awning to book the service at the same time.

What do I need to buy before installing?

PERGOLUX supplies the awning and the mounting brackets, but not the wall anchors or screws. Before you start:

  1. Check what your wall is made of (concrete, brick, timber frame, insulated facade, etc.).
  2. Head to the installation manual on our website or app β€” it'll tell you exactly which anchor type to buy for that wall material.
  3. Pick up the right anchor from your local hardware store.

The right anchor depends entirely on the wall, so this step shouldn't be skipped β€” a fixing meant for solid concrete won't hold in hollow brick or aerated concrete, for example.

Are there any surfaces the awning shouldn't be mounted directly to?

A few surfaces can't carry the load on their own, and fixings need to pass through them into a structural material behind:

  • Plasterboard / drywall β€” no load capacity on its own; fixings must reach solid timber, concrete, or steel behind it.
  • Facade cladding or siding β€” cosmetic cladding can't carry the load; mount through it into the structure using backing blocks or spacers.
  • Decorative trim or fascia boards β€” anchor into the structural rafters or beams behind, not the trim itself.

Do I need an electrician to install it?

No β€” the awning comes with a power cable and standard plug, so it's plug-and-play into a suitable outdoor, earthed socket. An electrician is only needed if you don't have a socket within reach and need one installed, or if you want a concealed/hard-wired connection.

Does the awning connect to a smart home app?

Not currently. Control is via the included RF remote (433 MHz) and the manual crank override only β€” there's no app or smart home integration at this time.
