The S3 Control Box can be easily integrated into a smart home system, provided a Matter-enabled hub is available. Compatible hubs include the Amazon Echo (4th Gen), Google Nest Hub (2nd Gen), Apple HomePod Mini, and Samsung SmartThings Hub. The hub must be set up according to the manufacturer’s instructions and connected to the home Wi-Fi network.
Once the hub is ready, a Matter-compatible app such as Amazon Alexa, Google Home, or Apple Home is needed to add the pergola. Before proceeding, ensure the app is updated to the latest version.
The next step involves scanning the Matter QR code, which can be found either in the PERGOLUX packaging or directly on the motor or controller of the pergola. In the chosen smart home app, select “Add New Device” or “Set Up Device”, then scan the QR code to connect the pergola to the app and hub.
Once the app detects the pergola, an on-screen guide will walk you through the setup process. You can assign a custom name like “PERGOLUX Pergola” and place it in a specific room within the smart home system.
After setup, it’s a good idea to test the connection, either through the app or using a voice assistant. For example, try saying “Alexa, open the pergola halfway.”
For an even more convenient experience, automations can be configured. The pergola can be set to automatically close when rain is detected, open at a specific time of day, or sync with outdoor lights or heaters to create a seamless smart home environment.
